Frequently Asked Questions
-
Great questions deserve honest answers. If you’ve found yourself here, you’re probably doing your research — which means you’re already thinking seriously about your next move. Good. That’s exactly the kind of intentionality that makes coaching work.
-
These FAQs are for product leaders, executives, and teams who want to understand what coaching actually involves before they commit. Because coaching is widely misunderstood. Most people expect advice. What they get — when the fit is right and the work is real — is transformation.

Sue’s approach is grounded in more than 20 years leading product teams at companies like Netflix, Lionsgate, and McGraw Hill. She works with product professionals, cross-functional teams, and tech leaders navigating growth, change, and impact — not only product leaders.

Below you’ll find honest answers to the questions Sue hears most: what coaching is and isn’t, whether it can help you change, what goals you can bring, how sessions are delivered, how often you’ll meet, how long the process takes, and how to get started.
WHAT IS COACHING, REALLY?
Coaching is a structured and transformative conversation designed to shift how you lead, think, and act. It’s not advice-giving. It’s not therapy. It’s not mentoring.
It’s a powerful space to reflect, challenge assumptions, unpack blind spots, and build the clarity, confidence, and tools you need to lead with intention.
Sue’s approach blends deep industry experience with coaching, training, facilitation & mentoring —helping you lead from the inside out, drive product impact, and create lasting behavioural change.
CAN COACHING ACTUALLY HELP ME CHANGE?
Yes—but only if you’re ready to look inward and do the work.
Change doesn’t come from frameworks alone. It comes from the courage to question what’s no longer working—old beliefs, outdated patterns, unhelpful reactions—and commit to something new. It comes from hearing new perspectives and learning to apply them.
Sue helps you move through resistance, build new ways of seeing and leading, and step into the version of yourself that your career, team, and life are asking for.
WHAT KINDS OF GOALS CAN WE WORK ON TOGETHER?
Coaching engagements are tailored, but most clients work with Sue on goals such as:
- Developing confidence as a new or emerging leader
Shifting from project thinking to product leadership - Building executive presence and stakeholder influence
- Leading teams through change, scale, or dysfunction
- Breaking through burnout or performance plateaus
- Navigating career transitions or finding renewed purpose
Whether it’s personal transformation or organisational impact, we focus on what’s most relevant to you.
WHAT'S YOUR COACHING STYLE?
Grounded. Challenging. Supportive. Practical. Transformational.
Sue brings a calm, no-nonsense presence that helps you get to the truth fast. You’ll be encouraged to think deeply, take action, and grow—without fluff, jargon, or trying to be someone you’re not.
This is coaching with heart, depth, and integrity.
HOW ARE YOUR COACHING SERVICES DELIVERED?
Sue offers both 1:1 coaching and team coaching, delivered in-person or virtually, depending on your needs.
- Private coaching is typically done over Zoom
- Team coaching and corporate programs can be run onsite or virtually
- Workshops can be delivered as one-off sessions or as part of an ongoing engagement
- Self-paced programs are delivered online with flexible timing and structured content
All formats are designed to work in the flow of your real-world responsibilities.
HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET?
Most 1:1 clients start with weekly sessions for approximately 60-90 minutes. This allows space for reflection, integration, and forward momentum between sessions.
For team coaching, frequency depends on the scope of the engagement—often fortnightly or monthly, supported by asynchronous content or Slack-style support between sessions.
Workshops are typically one or two days, with optional follow-up coaching.
HOW LONG WILL COACHING TAKE?
That depends on your goals and your pace of change. Here’s a general guide:
- Self-paced programs: 2–16 hours of self paced online learnin
- Face-to-face workshops: 1–2 days
- Private coaching: 3–6 months (average), extendable based on new goals
- Team coaching: Tailored engagements from 6 weeks to 6 months
Some clients work toward a single milestone. Others build long-term partnerships across roles, goals, or career stages.
DO YOU ONLY COACH PRODUCT LEADERS?
No—but Sue is uniquely equipped to support product professionals, cross-functional teams, and tech leaders.
Her background at Netflix, McGraw Hill, and Lionsgate gives her deep insight into what high-performance looks like in complex, fast-moving environments.
That said, any leader navigating growth, change, or impact is welcome. What matters most is your readiness to learn and lead differently.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND YOUR ONLINE PROGRAMS OR WORKSHOPS?
Think of it this way:
- Coaching is highly personalised and responsive—it adapts to where you are, in real-time
- Online programs are structured, on-demand learning experiences—great for upskilling and self-reflection at your own pace
- Workshops are practical, in-depth training sessions and can be customised—ideal for teams or leaders wanting hands-on learning and shared alignment
Many clients combine all three, depending on their goals.
